John Buck announced his planned retirement as the executive director of the Elizabeth Richardson Center (ERC) in Fayetteville at the regularly scheduled meeting of the board of directors on Aug. 27.

Buck was asked by the board to stay on for up to six months while the organization searches for his replacement.

“While John’s shoes will be difficult to fill, we are confident that we will find a dynamic individual who shares our passion for enhancing lives, removing barriers and creating opportunities for disabled children and adults in Northwest Arkansas,” said Jenna Johnston, president of the ERC board of directors. “He has faithfully guided the agency as it has grown, offered more services and opportunities, built facilities, and more than doubled the number of clients that we serve.”

The ERC is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the needs of individuals with disabilities since 1963. With ten locations in Northwest Arkansas, ERC serves over 500 children and adults each year.

“We owe John much for his dedication to this organization and the Northwest Arkansas community, and thank him for his outstanding service and his guidance during this process,” Johnston said.
