First National Bank of NWA regional president Rob Husong announced Wednesday that Brent Leas has joined the bank as a vice president, community banker and retail team leader at the new Bentonville branch, which will open later this year.

Leas has banking, investing and business development experience in the Benton County market including asset management, financial consulting and commercial insurance experience. Leas began his banking career 21 years ago as a teller in Bentonville. Most recently, he was an investment advisor with Arvest Asset Management in Bella Vista.

Leas is an elected member of the Bentonville School Board and is a commissioner on the Benton County Rural Development Authority. He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married for 21 years and they have three children.

“We are excited to add Brent to our team. His banking experience and community involvement make him an ideal fit for our FNBNWA culture. We look forward to opening the Bentonville branch,” Husong said.

The new Bentonville branch will open in late 2015 on Southwest A Street near the downtown square. Federal regulators approved the new branch in October.

First National Bank of NWA, a division of The First National Bank of Fort Smith, currently has four local branches in Rogers (2), Lowell and Centerton.
