HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital Nearing Expansion Completion
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville is nearing completion of an expansion to its existing 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital at 153 E. Monte Painter Drive, resulting in 80 beds.
The project is expected to be completed in September, according to a news release. HealthSouth, the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, is a partner with Washington Regional Medical Center.
The 9,250-SF inpatient rehabilitation hospital expansion includes 20 new private patient rooms, a new patient day room as well as expansions of the dining room and parking lot. In addition to the expansion, the existing hospital is receiving a refresh that is projected to be completed by the second quarter of 2016.
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital holds disease-specific certifications from the Joint Commission for its stroke, hip fracture and Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation.
“The addition of these 20 new patient rooms will allow us to provide enhanced post-acute rehabilitation services to more patients in Northwest Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, southwest Missouri and the surrounding communities,” said HealthSouth Fayetteville CEO Jack Mitchell said in the release.
Washington Regional president and CEO Bill Bradley added: “With the demand for quality inpatient rehabilitation services continuing to grow in our region, we are pleased that this expansion will be available to serve patients.”
Gresham, Smith and Partners is the architect and Doster Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project. Both are based in Birmingham, Ala.
The project is being funded from ongoing operations without a construction loan.
