The Jones Trust recently wrapped up a two-year, $30 million campaign for The Jones Center endowment, bringing it to $60 million.

Venture capitalist and trucking magnate Johnelle Hunt finished out the campaign with a donation of an undisclosed amount. Lead gift providers were the Walton Family Foundation and the Endeavor Foundation. Both contributed $10 million.

Along with ongoing contributions and user fees, the endowment will generate annual revenue to meet operating expenses. The Jones Trust board set a 3.5 percent annual cap on withdrawals from the endowment.

Other important donors included the Tyson Family Foundation, the George family, the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation, and the Shaw family.

Hunt, in a press release issued by The Jones Center, said: “The Jones Center is dedicated to strengthening this community, and helping nurture the individuals and families that call Northwest Arkansas home. It is with great joy that our family and others will help sustain Harvey and Bernice’s dream of making The Jones Center a place of education, recreation and togetherness for everyone in the region.”

The campaign launched in December 2012.
