XNA Passengers Board Flights In Record Numbers in 2014
Officials from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) in Highfill announced Monday that the airport had a record year in 2014.
A total of 640,537 passengers boarded flights from the airport last year, the highest annual number since the airport opened for commercial service on Nov. 1, 1998.
The number also represented a 10.15 increase from 2013.
In a news release, airport officials cited several reasons for the record-breaking year, namely the uptick in the economy.
The cost of flying from XNA has also dropped by 4.5 percent, according to the release.
