Panoramic View

We sure hope you like the high-elevation photograph on page 13 of our print edition. It was taken by John George, executive vice president of Hunt Ventures LLC, after he’d scaled the crane being used to build the 10-story Hunt Tower in Rogers.

George said it takes about 10 minutes to climb the crane, something he’s done twice. He wanted to get a feel for the view from the 10th floor of the new building, set to open in November.

From the crane’s platform, gently swaying in the breeze about 150 feet above the ground, George said he could see the Wal-Mart Stores Inc. headquarters in Bentonville, and down to the rolling hills of Fayetteville.

“I’ve long known that Northwest Arkansas is a beautiful place but standing on top of that crane at that elevation gives you a new perspective on just how beautiful this area is,” George said.
