Harps Food Stores Opens Store No. 77

Harps Foods Stores Inc. of Springdale opened its 77th store Dec. 3 in Mountain Home.

The 32,754-SF building officially opened to customers at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Arkansas Highway 412 and U.S. Highway 62 West.

The store is the second Harps location in Mountain Home. The first opened in December 1969.

The new development features a drive-thru pharmacy, and is one of the few stores in the chain to have a gas station.

Chris Ross is the manager of the new store, one of several new Harps stores that will open in the coming months, according to company officials. There are plans for as many as 20 new stores in the next five years.

Harps stores in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma now have more than 4,500 employees.
