A Plea for the Porkers

The opinions following the Arkansas Razorbacks football game at nationally No. 1-ranked Mississippi State were wide-ranging. Not surprising, considering the Hogs nearly pulled off the upset of the college football season, ultimately losing 17-10, the team’s 17th consecutive loss to a Southeastern Conference opponent.

There will not be an 18th consecutive loss. At least that is the opinion of John David Lindsey.

The morning after the Nov. 1 loss, Lindsey, the principal broker for Lindsey & Associates of Fayetteville, used his Facebook page to make a plea to Hog fans far and wide.

“As a Hog fan my whole life I’ve never been so convicted as I am today about the positive direction our program is heading,” Lindsey wrote. “I know for a lot of fans the last 2.5 years have been really trying. I want to challenge every Razorback fan all over this great state to stand behind our team and let’s all go all hands on deck on Nov. 15 in Razorback Stadium and believe and cheer like never before. We are going to win.”

Arkansas hosts Louisiana State University on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.

Lindsey, you may know, is the son of company founder Jim Lindsey, a standout on the UA’s 1964 national championship football team who, incidentally, will celebrate his 70th birthday Nov. 24.
