UA Graduate, Former Museum Exec Named to Fundraising Post at UAMS
Dina Wood, the former director of development for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, was recently named senior director of development for UAMS-Northwest Arkansas Region.
Wood, a graduate of the University of Arkansas and the UA School of Law, spent 11 years working at the UA’s department of University Advancement prior to taking the post at Crystal Bridges.
“We are very pleased to have someone of such broad experience joining our collaborative leadership team in Northwest Arkansas and helping to move UAMS forward in meeting the needs of Arkansans,” said Lance Burchett, vice chancellor for institutional advancement.
Wood will keep an office at the UAMS Northwest campus in Fayetteville.
UAMS has 2,890 students and 782 medical residents. It is the state’s largest public employer with more than 10,000 employees, including about 1,000 physicians and other professionals who provide care to patients at UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the VA Medical Center and UAMS regional centers throughout the state.
“At Crystal Bridges and Fulbright College, I was surrounded by talented colleagues and passionate donors, and we surpassed unimaginable fundraising goals,” Wood said. “The UAMS team is likewise ambitious and has great potential to attract private investment to the UAMS Northwest campus as well as for other UAMS entities in the region.”
