Hicks Hire

Great Southern Bank scored a nice hire recently by naming Matt Hicks its new market manager for Northwest Arkansas. His first day was Sept. 16.

Hicks was previously market president of Centennial Bank in Rogers and Bentonville, a promotion he received earlier this year. He started his career in 2004 with Liberty Bank of Arkansas in Jonesboro and relocated to Northwest Arkansas in 2006, staying on with Centennial after it bought Liberty Bank last year.

Hicks is the third person to hold GSB’s top local position in less than a year. John Summers, who was just announced in March as the Springfield, Missouri, bank’s top local executive, left the bank May 16. Summers followed James Smith, who resigned in December after three years.

As market manager, Hicks will oversee GSB’s banking centers in Rogers and Fayetteville.
