Fayetteville ophthalmologists Paul Henry and Peter Daut, under the entity H.D. Partners LLC, have purchased a vacant restaurant development in Fayetteville for $1.07 million.

The two doctors are the owners of longtime Fayetteville firm Henry Eye Clinic, and Paul Henry said the clinic will relocate to the new building once it is renovated.

“Just as soon as we can get the appropriate permits, we want to start the process soon,” Henry said, adding the refurbishment is expected to take 6 to 8 months.

The 8,732-SF building, previously owned by Steve and Ping Chen, is at 741 E. Van Asche Drive and was previously the site of Boi de Ouro, a Brazilian steakhouse.

Henry said the eye clinic’s current address at 22 Colt Square Drive is about 5,000 SF.

“We’ll have more space and a lot more parking,” he said.

Henry Eye Clinic, which has 18 employees, has been in business in Fayetteville since 1961, founded by Morriss Henry, Paul’s father, near the downtown square.

Morriss Henry sold his ownership interest to Daut in 2013, but he still practices at the clinic three days a week.

“My dad started the clinic when his parents were practicing in Fort Smith; this was originally a satellite office,” Paul Henry explained. “It’s been a lot of fun working with him.”

Legacy National Bank of Springdale is financing the deal with a six-year mortgage of $1.53 million.
