A Springdale developer is planning to upgrade an aged retail center in Rogers.

David Mancia, owner of Mancia Properties LLC, is the new owner of The Village West Shopping Center at 2882 W. Walnut St. and the 15,325-SF property is undergoing an extensive remodel.

Mancia paid $550,000 for the development. The First National Bank of Fort Smith was the seller.

The bank took ownership in November 2012.

Kurt and Dawn Maddox were the previous owners. Maddox bought the development in August 2001 from Toby and Erma Peel for $895,000.

The renovated strip center will be known as Pinnacle Heights Plaza, with lease rates starting at $15 per SF per year.

Ozarchitecture Inc. of Rogers is handling the design work.

Centennial Bank in Fayetteville is financing the project.

The 1.86-acre development was built in 1996 and appraised in 2012 for $938,800.
