Local ABC affiliate station KHBS/KHOG-TV, Channels 40/29, and The Arkansas CW recently bought the rest of the second floor in the building that houses its offices off Interstate 49 in Rogers.

The purchase increased the station’s size from 15,000 SF to 20,000 SF, said news director Greg Shepperd.

A big part of the expansion is a new, spruced-up newsroom, which is almost double the size of the old 2,400-SF space.

“As our newscast offerings expanded and our team of journalists grew, we knew we needed more space,” Shepperd said. “Our new newsroom was also designed with future growth in mind, giving us the capability to add even more team members.”

The newsroom features bright blue and red walls and floor-to-ceiling windows. Shepperd said the station plans to put an additional studio camera in the newsroom, so the staff can report directly while updated information is being gathered.
