Arena Sale in Works?
One of our Washington County real estate hawks reports another major real estate deal in Springdale is coming down the pipe.
The 130,000-SF All Star Sports Arena at 1906 Cambridge St. is under contract, according to our source.
Simmons First National Bank recovered the troubled indoor sports complex in April 2013 from Scott and Connie Harris and Richard and Linda Harris at a $2.2 million foreclosure sale.
The multipurpose facility opened in 2005 on two parcels totaling 5.95 acres, adjacent to Shiloh Christian School and Cross Church.
It features eight basketball or nine volleyball courts, two indoor soccer fields with FieldTurf, an 11,000-SF fitness center, gaming arcade, aerobics studio, 0.2-mile indoor track and a day care room.
As for the buyer, it is not Cross Church. Andy Wilson, executive leader of ministry and operations, told us the megachurch has not made an offer to buy the development.
