Butler Broadcasting Co. LLC of Fayetteville, which owns KXNA-FM 104.9 “The X,” is now broadcasting from the Today’s Bank building at the “intersection of business and fun” — Dickson Street and College Avenue in Fayetteville.

Due to technical issues, the move from the antiquated building on Holly Street took much longer than anticipated — about a year — but the jocks, most notably Jon Williams and Derek “Deek” Kastner, began broadcasting from the new location May 19.

“We wanted to be on Dickson Street,” station owner Stephen Butler said. “We’re local and live and entertaining, and now we’re in the entertainment district.”

The radio signal is routed through high-speed Internet lines to a tower on Holly Street and then microwaved to other towers and transmitters in Fayetteville, Springdale and Bentonville. Butler Broadcasting also controls KREB-AM 1190 “The Fan” and KFFK-AM 1390 “The Center.”

Butler entered into a “good lease” with Mathias Properties, the building’s owner, for about 4,500 SF of renovated space that includes studios and offices.

“They could not have been better,” Butler said of Mathias representatives. “I feel more like a partner than a client.”
