A new event venue is set to open in late May in downtown Rogers.

Called The Grand at 117, the project is being led by Shawn and Andrea Dible. They paid $400,000 for the vacant commercial space, about 9,500 SF, at 117 W. Walnut St.

Arvest Bank of Fayetteville helped finance the deal.

Donna Welsh of Coldwell Banker Harris McHaney Faucette in Rogers had the listing.

Joe Gargano of Hot Springs was the seller.

Up until last summer, the two-story building housed Serendipity Events, a wedding and events venue. Before that it was home to Belle Arti restaurant.

“We’ve been doing quite a bit of renovation and my wife is going to do events here,” Shawn Dible said. “She used to do some work for Pagnozzi Charities several years ago and she’s always wanted to do it so we’re just going to jump in head-long and see what happens.”

The Grand at 117 has already scheduled several bookings. “We have four or five already, from next month to next year,” Dible said. Events include weddings, nonprofit events, birthday parties and corporate luncheons.

Subcontractors involved with the renovation include Cavalry Electric Inc. of Rogers and Davis Plumbing & Repairs LLC of Bentonville.

Dible said there are two other area business owners he and his wife are contracting with.

Lindy Owen, owner of Simply Divine Catering of Rogers, will lease the event venue’s kitchen and will be available as an in-house caterer for clients of The Grand at 117.

Debbie Abbott, owner of The White Dress Boutique, is the venue’s event planner.

Dible said the venue will have a grand opening event from 3 to 9 p.m. on May 23.
