The Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority voted unanimously Tuesday to donate 200 acres worth $4 million to be used for the construction of an Osteopathic College of Medicine in Fort Smith.

The current schedule targets the fall of 2017 for admission of the first class into the proposed college.

The Fort Smith Regional Healthcare Foundation has committed funds in excess of $58 million for the project and anticipates additional funding from other sources.
