Johnelle Hunt, chairman of Hunt Ventures and wife of the late trucking icon J.B. Hunt, addresses the audience Thursday at the Summit Luncheon held at Cross Church in Rogers.

Entrepreneur and trucking magnate Johnelle Hunt, 81, is expected to make a full recovery after neck surgery to repair damage sustained during a fall inside her Rogers home on Nov. 22.

John George, executive vice president of Hunt Ventures, said Hunt, widow of the late J.B. Hunt, went to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock for the surgery.

“Doctors said she’ll make a full recovery,” George said. “She’s working from home, and believe me, she has plenty of energy.”

Hunt is the largest single stockholder in J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc., the company she co-founded in 1969 with her husband. She is ranked the 260th richest person in the United States and the 792nd richest person in the world by Forbes magazine.

A mother of two, the Heber Springs native is revered for her business acumen and her philanthropy.

J.B. Hunt died in December 2006 at age 79 after slipping and falling on ice.
