The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is offering a Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights seminar from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in Room 202 of the University of Arkansas Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development.

Meredith Lowry, David Pieper and Trent Keisling, patent attorneys with Fayetteville law firm Keisling & Pieper PLC, will present on the topic.

The class is intended for inventors, business owners and entrepreneurs who want to protect intellectual property such as a business name, logo, website, invention or artistic creation and for attorneys or law students.

In addition to receiving an overview of patent, trademark and copyright law, participants in the class will be shown the processes of obtaining these protections and given available patent, trademark and copyright resources.

Admission is $40 for the general public and $20 for full-time UA students. Faculty and staff members are allowed one free seminar per year.

Keisling and Pieper will pay for the admission of up to 15 licensed Arkansas attorneys to attend the seminar.

Attendees are eligible for four hours of Continuing Legal Education credit.
