Jim Shearin, Industry Veteran, Dies at 67
Jim Shearin, one of the state’s most well-known real estate executives, died August 5 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was 67.
Shearin began his real estate career in the state in 1970. He was most recently executive broker at Portfolio Luxury Real Estate in Rogers.
He owned a couple of real estate companies in Little Rock before starting Shearing and Co. Realtors in Rogers in 1983.
Shearin was later the president and co-founder of Shearin Hathaway Group of Rogers.
SHG opened in 1996, the brainchild of Shearin and Jim Hathaway, founder and CEO of The Hathaway Group of Little Rock.
At its opening, Shearin said SHG would be the first realty firm in Northwest Arkansas devoted exclusively to the needs of commercial and industrial customers.
Funeral services through Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers were held August 9 at Cross Church in Rogers, with internment at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens.
