Restaurateurs Donating Dinners

At least five Northwest Arkansas restaurants have partnered with a new nonprofit to donate free meals to a food bank for every meal purchased.

Vetro 1925 and Farrell’s Lounge, Bar and Grill in Fayetteville, Tusk & Trotter in Bentonville, and the Mellow Mushroom locations in Rogers and Fayetteville are taking part in the program called Eatiply.

Diners don’t have to do anything but order a meal totaling at least $10 at participating restaurants, which in turn donate a low-cost meal to a local food bank.

Since January, Minneapolis-based Eatiply has been signing up restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, Little Rock, Seattle and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Its website, eatiply.com, states the program is “coming soon” to nine other cities, including Denver, Dallas and Houston.

The nonprofit claims it has donated 143,392 meals as of July 3.
