Dealership Executive Exits Picture in Bentonville

Whispers has an interesting question: What’s going on at the Everett Maxey Buick GMC dealership in Bentonville?

The last we heard, Clay Maxey, the “Maxey” in the Everett Maxey name as the co-owner and general manager, was no longer affiliated with the dealership.

A young lady who answered a telephone call there told Whispers that’s been the case for about a week or two, and that a guy named Tom Stathakis is now the general manager.

But you’d never know that by the looks of things. Everett Maxey commercials still run on local television stations, the big sign at the dealership’s lot off Moberly Lane still reads Everett Maxey, and so does the masthead on the dealership’s website.

If you visit that site, there’s still a large portal with Maxey’s photo that says, “Talk to Clay.”

Whispers tried that avenue to send Maxey a message, asking why he was no longer with the dealership, but alas, we got a dreaded message error when we clicked the “submit” button.

A call to Dwight Everett, owner of the dealership, was not returned. Neither was a message left for Stathakis.
