After 18 years, there’s finally been a change at IFWORLD Inc.

IFWORLD, which touts itself as “the oldest Internet provider in the state,” was incorporated in 1998, after operating as Interface Computer Center since 1994. ICC was started by Scott Mills and Jeremy Webb, who were joined by Matt Romine in 1995.

Those three shared equal ownership until Aug. 17, when Webb signed an agreement to sell his interest to longtime employee Damon Hill. Hill, who previously had bought “a small interest” in the company, now serves as president.

“If you’re going to sell a company, that’s the way you want to do it,” Webb said. “You want to keep the core people there. It’s so much better than bringing in an outsider.”

Hill, who began working at IFWORLD in 2003 as “a website developer, programmer — really a jack of all trades,” now will focus on client management, contract management and serving as the “face” of the company. IFWORLD continues to offer its services as an Internet service provider and website developer, but has expanded its focus to include managed services, iPhone/iPad app development, custom Web application development and co-location services.

Webb, meanwhile, is exploring various new opportunities.

“I like technology and I like finance and I like real estate,” he said. “Those are kind of my three things that I piddle in.”
