University of Arkansas professor Ro DiBrezzo has been named vice provost of academic affairs after a campuswide search, university officials said Thursday.

DiBrezzo, who teaches health, human performance and recreation in the College of Education and Health Professions, has held the post on an interim basis for a year.

Her responsibilities include leading faculty development efforts. While serving as interim vice provost, she led a campus effort to revise academic integrity processes and pushed for an improved teacher and course evaluation system. She will continue to oversee both of these areas.

“Dr. DiBrezzo has carefully shepherded new initiatives to improve quality and reputation at the University of Arkansas,” chancellor G. David Gearhart said in a news release. “We are pleased she will be permanently contributing to academic affairs.”

The position was previously held by Nancy Talburt, who retired in 2010.
