A $6.24 million, 75-bed assisted-living center that was to be built in Bethel Heights is now slated for a Rogers location.

Maple Senior Living of Bethel Heights, which was to be built at 750 Fat Horse Road, got permission from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality to change the site to 1405 Persimmon St. in Rogers.

Maple Senior Living of Bethel Heights LLC, headed by Mary Yount and doing business as Maple Supportive Living of Rogers, is based in Edmond, Okla., according to Arkansas Secretary of State records.

The project will be funded with tax credits of $5.44 million, grants and loans of $2.13 million, and $250,000 in operator equity, according to the Arkansas Health Services Permit Agency.

MLC Consulting LLC has guaranteed $250,000 for startup costs.

The center is a project of Preservation Freehold Co., a national nonprofit with a mission to provide and preserve affordable housing and health care nationally.

Preservation Freehold is expected to receive the tax credit and grant funding in May through the Arkansas Development Finance Authority, with construction on the assisted-living center to start in August.
