Mercy Plans Fall Opening For New Fort Smith Clinic
Construction of the $4.4 million clinic the St. Edward Mercy Health System is building in Fort Smith is expected to be complete this fall, a news release stated.
The 12,940-SF Mercy Clinic at 7800 Dallas St. will have 26 exam rooms, an in-house lab and X-ray facilities. The building will be wired for electronic medical records, and will accommodate up to 10 providers.
“This new facility will allow us to move some of our primary-care providers to one location while leaving room to recruit new physicians to the area,” Matt Keep, the clinic’s chief operating officer, said in the release. “This is just the first of five new buildings planned over the next eight to 10 years to keep up with the growth of Mercy Clinic and the demand for physicians in the area.”
Mercy said last August it will spend about $192 million in capital projects and improvements over the next 10 years.
In April, St. Edward Mercy will change its name to Mercy Fort Smith.
