Further Delays at Osage Creek?

Wondering about the progress of the Osage Creek Amphitheater project in southwestern Benton County? Here’s an update.

A Sept. 8 post on OCA’s Facebook page read, in part, “We are securing our final financing to complete your new venue. It has been a year of extremes both with the weather and $$. This project has been paid for to this point by 3 individuals… Keep the faith and feel free to talk to us about investment opportunities. We will get it completed, it just takes a bit longer to reach the finish line … G”

We assume the “G” was developer Greg Smith, who told the Business Journal in June there was an outside chance Phase I of the construction – seating for 12,000, the stage and the completion of the majority of the infrastructure work on and around the venue – would be finished in time to host at least one event by the end of September.

That proposition now looks shaky at best. Instead, we’re left wondering if the project, situated on 72 acres and appraised at $5.4 million, will meet its spring 2012 completion date.
