Two Earn Promotions in UA Restructuring

Veteran staff members Melissa Blouin and Laura Jacobs have been promoted to leadership positions for two new departments within the office of university relations at the University of Arkansas.

Blouin will assume the title of senior director of academic communications. Jacobs has been named the senior director of strategic communications. Both have been with the office of university relations since 1998.

Blouin will coordinate the work of communicators in the university’s colleges and schools, the University of Arkansas Press, and the two science and research communicators currently on the university relations staff.

Jacobs’ department will coordinate or collaborate with several of the university’s key divisions and units on constituent communications. Those units include the Arkansas Alumni Association, UA athletics and the Arkansas World Trade Center.
