After 25 years in business, Jhonnie Taylor confirmed she and her husband, Bob, are selling MegaByte Computer Center in Fayetteville, effective July 1.

Terms of the sale, to Tom Frank of Bentonville, were not disclosed.

The Taylors bought the two-year-old Micro Computer Center in 1986 and changed its name. There won’t be such a change this time.

“The first thing I want to say is everything is going to continue just the way it is,” Jhonnie Taylor said. “The staff will stay intact and the service will remain the same.”

The Taylors will serve as consultants for an undetermined amount of time, but also plan to enjoy retirement.

“We’re going to do a lot of traveling, and I’ve got to find a hobby – and one that’s not computer-related at all,” Taylor said with a laugh. “But for now, we have a motor home, and we plan on just taking off.”

MegaByte has specialized in Apple computers since its start, and is touted on the company website as the only Apple Specialist in the state of Arkansas. The company also has won numerous Apple excellence and customer satisfaction awards, and has counted companies like Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Tyson Foods Inc., and Saatchi & Saatchi X as clients.
