On the heels of a similar move by KFSM-TV, KHBS/KHOG-TV recently began airing its weekday morning news program at 4:30 a.m. The change was effective April 18.

Station president and general manager Brian Sather cited lifestyle changes among viewers as the reason for the earlier start time in a news release.

Along with anchor Derek Burleson and meteorologist Matt Devitt, a team of field crews provides live updates of overnight news events and previews coverage of significant local news stories throughout the station’s viewing area.

“Not only will our early morning viewers get local news earlier, but we’re adding resources to provide them more local news and weather,” news director Dawn Dugle said in the release.

KFSM became the first Northwest Arkansas station to air its morning news program at 4:30 a.m. on April 4.
