Colemans Bring Kid-Friendly Cuts to Fayetteville
Laura Coleman of Rogers said Pigtails and Crewcuts will offer two things — excitement for the kids and a little relaxation for the adults.
“It’s almost a break (for parents),” Coleman said. “When I would take my little boy in Little Rock, it really was a break for me. I could return some phone calls or get work done.”
Coleman and her husband, Chuck, are the owners of the new business in Fayetteville, located in a 1,389-SF space on Joyce Boulevard. The franchise is the second in Arkansas, joining a Little Rock operation that has been open for three years.
The opening date for the Fayetteville location is April 5.
Coleman said parents who bring their children to Pigtails — and no appointments are necessary — will find something different from other hair salons. Most notable is the kid-friendly environment, starting with three cutting stations.
Instead of typical salon chairs, Pigtails will have an airplane, a fire truck and a police car. A television set will play movies at each station.
On the other side of the shop are three more workstations with conventional chairs, “so we can even do some mom and dad cuts, or older kids,” Coleman said.
The older kids can also play PlayStation games at the larger chairs and are welcome to choose a toy from the treasure chest at the end of their visit.
In the back will be a kids’ playroom — visible to parents in the main studio through a window wall — with a large television set, mechanical train set and other toys. The playroom can also be reserved for birthday parties.
The business will offer an assortment of accessories for sale, including ribbons, bows and headbands, shampoos, conditioners, bubble bath, toys for boys and lip gloss for girls.
The store’s operating hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
