Lights Out for Some Businesses
If the Courtyard by Marriott in Fayetteville looked darker than normal on the night of Saturday, March 26, it was for good reason.
The Courtyard was one of a handful of local businesses we heard about that observed the fourth annual Earth Hour. The Courtyard shut down all public lighting — with the exception of emergency lighting, stairwells and confined spaces — for an hour, beginning at 8:30 p.m. Guests were alerted and encouraged to participate.
Earth Hour is designed to raise awareness in support of actions on climate change. Other local entities participating included Fayetteville Public Library, UAMS Northwest and Mi Casa Real Estate Co.
