Whispers told you in May about the ouster of Matt Shanklin, former associate athletic director for marketing and licensing at the University of Arkansas.
Shanklin spent 20 years at the UA, and we had little doubt he’d land on his feet. We were correct.
As Whispers understands it, Shanklin started a new gig on Feb. 14. He now works as general manager of LSU Sports Properties, which means he’ll essentially be doing things similar to what he did here in Arkansas.
The move also means Shanklin’s wife, Missy, will be leaving Fayetteville-based lifestyle magazine CitiScapes. We wish the entire Shanklin family all the best.
