Whispers hears that long-time banker Mike McFarland will leave his post as First Security Bank’s Springdale market president and join Arvest Bank. We understand McFarland will be at Arvest full-time beginning on Jan. 24.
His new title will be senior vice president, commercial banking.
Readers may remember a recent high-profile move to First Security. Back in July, Loren Shackelford left as the Fayetteville market president for Signature Bank of Arkansas to join FSB.
Arvest and First Security are the top two banks by deposit market share in Washington County, with 34.4 percent and 10.8 percent of the share, respectively.
