A net of 8 percent of the CIOs said they plan to add jobs in their IT departments during the first quarter. The survey is based on phone interviews of 1,400 CIOs in the U.S. at companies with more than 100 employees.
Companies in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin will be most active in hiring, the survey said.
Network administrators will be the most sought-after employees, followed by Windows administrators and desktop support and database management.
