Alcoa and Quantis Among Latest to Join Consortium
The Sustainability Consortium, co-directed by the University of Arkansas and Arizona State University, continued a busy month by adding Alcoa and Quantis as two of its newest members in October.
The consortium does research-based work to improve the sustainability of products through every stage of their life cycles. Alcoa is the world’s leading producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina, while Quantis is a consulting firm that specializes in life cycle assessment.
“It is important that the consortium involve organizations from every arena,” said Jon Johnson, co-director of the consortium and executive director of the University of Arkansas Applied Sustainability Center, “and Alcoa provides a unique perspective that will enhance the work of the team overall.
“As advisers in the field of life cycle assessment, (Quantis) understands what strategies and approaches lead to improvements for organizations, and will be a great resource for all the organizations already involved in the consortium.”
PRé Consultants, which has more than 20 years of experience in the field of life cycle management, also has joined the consortium. PRé is a worldwide leader in life cycle assessment software.
