Another aftershock from the merger of Northwest Arkansas’ newspapers is about to be felt.

As we understand it, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Northwest Edition’s “Profiles” section is going to be reduced from six to four pages and wrapped around the Morning News of Northwest Arkansas‘ “Our Town” section. Our two cents: The streamlining is a money move by the newspapers, at the cost of content for their readers.

In other Democrat-Gazette news, Ray Minor is out as its Northwest Arkansas edition city editor. The move was made Oct. 11, and he’ll be replaced by print vet Jennifer Cook, who has been working as deputy city editor.

We’ve also heard Michelle Bradford will move into Cook’s role. Bradford is another newspaper vet who spent some time working for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
