Growth Group LLC, owned by ex-developer Mitchell Massey of Fayetteville, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection July 24, and has until Aug. 9 to file a schedule of property, assets, debts and creditors.

A Meeting of Creditors is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sept. 7, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

Growth Group has done business in both Arkansas and Florida, and two petitions for bankruptcy were filed. The Arkansas company’s petition estimates assets of less than $50,000 and liabilities between $100,000 and $500,000, while the Florida company’s petition estimates both assets and liabilities of up to $50,000.

Massey also filed individual bankruptcy in April 2009, a case discharged in April this year. Former Growth Group investors Carlen G. Hooker and Ricky Lee Hancock filed for individual bankruptcy protection in April, and both cases are pending in Arkansas’ Western District court.
