Tontitown’s CMC Construction Falls Silent

Another sad sign The Great Recovery might not have reached full-strength: Tontitown’s CMC Construction Services apparently has folded.

CMC Construction Services is owned by publicly traded Commercial Metals Corp., a company that sells commercial metals. CMC Construction Services supplies builders.

Its Tontitown office, as we understand it, was a six-man operation. The phone number listed for the office is no longer in working order, according to a prerecorded message.

Attempts to get information from Commercial Metals Corp. were almost as fruitless. Public relations official Debbie Okle’s e-mailed response: “CMC has a policy of not commenting on matters of merger, acquisition or disposition of facilities.”
