Sentence postponed for troubled Rogers businesswoman
Dana Washburn, the Rogers businesswoman who admitted more than a year ago to defrauding IberiaBank Corp. of $3.6 million by using phony collateral, has had her sentencing postponed once again.
U.S. District Judge Leon Holmes was supposed to hand out her medicine on June 25, the day before Arkansas Business snagged second-place in a national journalism competition for a 2009 story that named her as the unidentified customer who defrauded the bank.
But Washburn had the sentencing hearing postponed because of a “medical condition,” according to the motion filed by her attorney, Stevan Vowell of Fayetteville.
We’re not exactly sure what she suffers from because that’s under seal. If you recall, Washburn was supposed to have been sentenced in March, and she has had health problems dating back to last fall.
Washburn’s sentencing is now set for Oct. 15 in Little Rock.
