Oh Baby Foods Inc., launched on Nov. 13, is expanding.

Company founder Fran Free Gunsaulis said she’s added prepared meals to her line of frozen baby foods, and hopes to introduce a line of toddler snacks later this summer. Free Gunsaulis and her employees manufacture the frozen food by cleaning and chopping ingredients by hand, then baking and/or steaming them before forming purees.

Those products are available in 13 stores in Northwest Arkansas and Little Rock. The prepared meals are made in much the same manner, but are refrigerated instead of frozen. Free Gunsaulis has begun sharing kitchen space with Lean Green Cuisine in Fayetteville.

A package of 10 individually sealed, four-ounce servings – divided into three flavors – costs $20. Orders placed online, and as a member of the Sweet Cheeks Club, by 10 p.m. on Mondays are available for pick-up or delivery on Friday.

Free Gunsaulis said the menu changes weekly and largely is based on what foods are in season. She added about 75 percent of the ingredients are locally grown.

“This gives parents the opportunity to play around with more foods without having to make it,” Free Gunsaulis said. “Once parents start trying our service, I think they’re going to tell their friends and we’re going to catch on.”

Gunsaulis said her goal is to fill about 50 orders per week.
