An extended calendar and expanded VIP area highlight the sixth season of The AMP at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville.

That’s according to Lea Ann Van Winkle-Gisler, vice president of operations.

“We’re excited to be able to do these things,” Van Winkle-Gisler said, “especially given the economic realities of the last two seasons.”

The season opened about a month earlier than usual with a show by Levon Helm on April 22 and is set to close at a later date, too, with an Oct. 2 performance by The Black Crowes.

Customers paying for VIP privileges this season will enjoy an extra 400 SF of tent space, Van Winkle-Gisler said, as well as a custom bar and fixtures. The hospitality area, known as the Lime Light Lounge, was designed, produced and installed by Bentonville marketing agency A.W. Bravis. It is sponsored by McBride Distributing, local provider of Budweiser products.

A new vendor, Backwoods Catering, also has been added. Backwoods’ specializes in fried catfish. Returning vendors include Jose’s, Papa John’s and Southern Hospitality Concessions.
