Leaders at First Baptist Church of Springdale and The Church at Pinnacle Hills are expanding their mission into Fayetteville.

Construction on the future structure, estimated at roughly 15,700 SF, is scheduled to begin this summer, with worship services starting this fall. The new unit will contain Sunday school classrooms, office space, and a 344-seat worship center.

Nick Floyd will serve as campus pastor. His father, Ronnie Floyd, will preach in person occasionally, but also by simulcast.

Located on Fayetteville’s Wedington Drive, Nick Floyd said the new church will be across the street from a future Walmart Neighborhood Market.

A billboard in an open swath of land appearing to match Floyd’s description mentions a future development referred to as the Shoppes at Wedington. Fayetteville’s Sage Partners, which represents an investment group that owns it, declined comment.

Floyd said members of more than 1,000 Fayetteville households already attend church at one of their other locations. About 250 people from those current campuses will help launch the new church.
