Sports Bars Eyeing Fayetteville

Just last June we wrote about the seven national or regional restaurant chains that had empty buildings in Northwest Arkansas. The list got even longer in the fall, when the Fayetteville T.G.I. Friday’s went belly-up.

We’ve since written about a couple of those spots getting filled, and we’re happy to add another to that list. According to a source familiar with the negotiations, a lease agreement has been reached that will bring new occupants to the Fayetteville store formerly housed by both O’Charley’s and Meaux Dad’s.

The new bar/restaurant will be named Benchwarmers, which leads us to believe it will be a sports bar of some sort.

We’ve also been led to believe a Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery could be coming to the space formerly occupied by T.G.I. Friday’s. Also a sports bar, Tilted Kilt features a Celtic theme and scantily clad waitstaff.

Originally started inside the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Titled Kilt now boasts about 30 locations nationwide, with another six or so in the works. For a peek at the, ahem, menu, check out www.tiltedkilt.com.
