Northwest Arkansas Law Employment Remains Steady

There’s no shortage of activity in the law industry. According to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of largest law firms, there are 19 firms employing a total of 174 lawyers, up from 171 in 2008.You may view the list here.
Only firms employing four or more lawyers in a Northwest Arkansas-based office were included on the list.
Kutack Rock LLP in Fayetteville is still Northwest Arkansas’ largest law firm by number of lawyers. The Bassett Law Firm of Fayetteville is at No. 2.
Three firms had name changes or partner changes in the last year. Davis Wright Clark Butt & Carithers PLC of Fayetteville became Davis Clark Butt Carithers & Taylor PLC; Lisle Law Firm PA of Springdale became Lisle Rutledge Attorneys; and Harrington Miller Neihouse & Kieklak, also of Springdale, became Harrington Miller Kieklak Eichmann & Brown.
Of the 174 lawyers employed by the largest firms in Benton and Washington counties, 98 work in Fayetteville, 40 in Rogers and 30 in Springdale.
Most firms held steady in employment, with only minor changes in their numbers, but the Davis Clark firm had a decrease of six lawyers through the year and fell from a No. 3 slot to a No. 8 slot.
The Mitchell Williams firm moved up the list from No. 7 to No. 5
