KFSM-TV Unveils Sports Talk Show

Veteran television reporter Mike Irwin is part of a new sports-themed call-in show on KFSM-TV, Channel 5’s secondary digital channel, My5.2.
The 30-minute program, which also features KFSM sports anchor John Engleman, airs live weekdays at 1 p.m., and is streamed simultaneously via www.kfsm.com. Irwin and Engleman field calls from viewers and talk about spots, with a heavy emphasis on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
My5.2 is Channel 661 on Cox cable systems. The program debuted on Jan. 4.
“I’m pretty excited about it,” Irwin said, “because it’s our version of editorializing. I don’t think you should editorialize during news broadcasts and that’s our philosophy at Channel 5.
“But this new format gives me a chance to offer my opinions, and those are just what I believe. If you want to call in and tell me I’m wrong, try to change my mind or whatever, that’s fine. That’s what this program is all about.”
