Expansion, in terms of employees and services, continues at Rapid Prototypes.

Owner Kyle Jack said the Bentonville-based packaging specialties company has added two employees, bringing its staff to seven, within the last year. The growth largely can be traced to “a more in-depth” relationship with Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Jack added.

While Rapid Prototypes worked almost solely with Wal-Mart suppliers a year ago, it now works hand-in-hand with the retail giant’s packaging side. Rapid Prototypes also will be involved in Wal-Mart’s upcoming shareholders’ meetings, providing display work and booths for several suppliers.

Among its recently added services, Rapid Prototypes now offers 3-D imaging, 3-D modeling of products, and architectural models.

Rapid Prototypes currently ranks eighth on the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of packaging specialty companies, which can be found on Page 16. The company employs seven people, up from five a year ago.
