Nu-U Day Spa Plans Move to Big 8 Tires
The largest spa in Northwest Arkansas is moving. Nu-U Day Spa, open since 1990 on Colt Square in Fayetteville and owned by Jason Fechter, is taking over the old location of Big 8 Tires at 2407 N. College Ave.
Nu-U topped the Business Journal’s annual list of largest day spas in February with 60 employees. Nu-U occupies 9,000 SF at its present location, which isn’t quite as prominent as the high-traffic area nearby on College.
Washington County property records show the Big 8 building is 8,868 SF. The building sold on March 20 for $375,000.
For our part, we’re glad to see another empty building on College put to use. Although Gary Combs won’t call us back to let us know what he’s doing at the old Razorback 6 Cinema, the new brick façade sure looks nice.
The burned-out former home of Gonzales Mexican Restaurant has also gotten a brick facelift, which is no doubt appreciated by the owners of LouLou’s Fish Shack and Lacuna, which flank it on either side and have also undergone major renovations in the past few years.
We certainly hope the trend continues as the City of Fayetteville gets under way on its six-month project to beautify College from Rock Street to North Street.
