KNWA Promotes News Director

Fayetteville’s NBC affiliate, KNWA-TV, Channel 51, announced in mid-January that it had promoted Brook Thomas to be the station’s news director.

Thomas previously served as assistant news director for KNWA. He replaces Scott Pickey, who was the station’s news director from March 2006 through the fall of last year when his contract expired. 

KNWA is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting Group of Irving, Texas, which also owns KARK-TV, Channel 4 in Little Rock. Nexstar had put many of its stations, including those in Arkansas, on the seller’s block in May 2007, but in August announced it had suspended talks with prospective buyers.
