Rogers Garners German Aircraft
Officials with Rogers Municipal Airport/Carter Field have just signed a new tenant. Only this one doesn’t hail from Northwest Arkansas, or even the United States.
Remos Aircraft GmbH, of Germany, will be setting up an assembly facility for light sport aircraft using existing hangar space.
The parts will be manufactured and flown in from Germany directly to Rogers Airport, which has a customs gate, so no stopovers at larger hubs will be necessary.
Initially, the Remos assembly will employ about five, but will likely increase that to 20 workers by the end of 2008, and possibly more in the years to come.
The high tech, carbon fiber planes retail for between $100,000 and $140,000.
